“Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t. Because, sometimes you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so, but sadly, it’s true, that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you.”
If I had to pick a book to represent Life and Entrepreneurship, I would pick Oh, the places you’ll go! It’s by far my favourite book by Dr. Seuss and it’s a popular graduation gift.
The story starts with a young boy heading out on his journey of life and we follow him through ups, downs, around and arounds. Through thick and thin, through highs and lows, all his feelings from his head to his toes. I couldn’t resist having some rhyme as that’s the style of the book.
I love it because it has so much wisdom and so many insights baked into a fun colourful story disguised as a book for children. Some of the key messages are about having an open mind, trying out new things and seizing opportunities.
Yet it isn’t afraid to talk about the darker sides of life that people are faced with, finding themselves in slumps, waiting for life to happen and meeting scary things along the way.
This book is relevant for everyone and especially for entrepreneurs who have decided to go on one of the biggest personal development journeys of their life. Highly recommended!
