A cup of tea can get you in the right frame of mind. Ok, maybe it’s not just the cup of tea but the whole environment.

I usually work from my office at home. This is where I make calls, write my emails and give online client sessions. When I find myself procrastinating over a task, I find it useful to change my surroundngs. That’s why I am writing this blog post from a lovely café near my home now with a nice cup of tea.

It works well because I have removed myself from all the usual distractions. For those of you that work from home, you may be familiar with being distracted unless you have become super disciplined. There’s chores waiting to be done, the washing, dishes to be cleared, plants to be watered, cooking and when I’m having a bad day, there’s the fridge….uhoh!

This is also why companies have off-sites because you think in a different way when you are away from your normal office environment.

Plus I have given myself JUST one task – focus on writing. I’m not allowed home until I have written at least 3 blog posts.

So if you have been delaying a task, take that one task and move yourself into a new environment. It can be outside, a friend’s place or a café.

Get started with the task and enjoy the tea 🙂
