“It’s time to focus. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Chillax a bit more. Everything’s going to be ok.”

This is what my future self said to me. Before you think I’ve gone totally crazy, it’s like you giving advice to a younger you. What would you say to a younger you? Now, have a chat with a future you and see what they have to say.

The person you are speaking to is you, how bad can it be? They’re older, wiser and have your best interests at heart. They certainly want you to survive so they can exist.

Pull up a chair and invite your future self for a chat. It’s up to you which future self you invite, they can be 5, 10, 20 years older, whoever feels right for you.

They say that you have all the answers within you and it’s true. Your body sends you signs, your gut sends you signals, so listen to what you have to say. Other people can give you advice but only you know how you feel about it. Deep down, you know what’s right for you even if you don’t always want to admit it.

This may sound like a funny exercise but it’s a wonderful way to see what’s important for you. My future self often tells me to take it easy because she knows that I stress out unnecessarily.
