Where does your energy go?
Having worked with some incredibly inspiring mentors, I notice that one thing they have in common is that they don’t waste their energy on convincing people. They are not in the convincing business. They focus their energy on the people that are interested in learning and working with them and don’t worry about the others.
This applies to many things in life. Don’t waste your energy being upset with the person that cut in front of you in traffic. Don’t worry too much about what you think other people are thinking about you, we have no idea, it’s often just speculation anyway. Don’t worry about the unsubscribes, they were never going to be your clients anyway.
Easier said than done – sometimes we end up going down rabbit holes with our thoughts and get hung up but as we take a step back and ask ourselves what’s really important, then the small stuff can slide away. Like most things, it takes practice.
We only have a certain amount of energy to use in the day, so make the most of it and focus it on what will have the most impact.
