Last week was the Sports Holiday which meant that my little boy was home with me. I had a lot going on and was finding it hard to concentrate between all the activities and getting tasks done.
One morning, I could hear the voice in my head saying, “Do your 15 mins learning”. Learning is something I love doing and it gives me a lot of energy. I was feeling rather torn, there was so much to do on my task list that it felt like I would be “wasting” those 15 mins learning.
The voice repeated itself a few times to me and I knew I had to listen. It was a gut feeling and over the years, I’ve learnt that it’s best to follow. I ended up spending half an hour that morning learning and it was the best decision. I felt refreshed and could take on more after doing this.
Have you ever had such an impulse? Where you feel something is telling you to do something, and although your head is saying otherwise, you know, it’s going to be good for you. Perhaps you get this with exercise or meditation or playing or something else.
It’s wise to listen to these impulses. I feel they come from a deeper place that often knows what you need more than you might at that moment.
What impulses like this have you had?
